<h1>Extended profile</h1>
<p>
Fulfilling the role of Headquarters (HQ) is by far the most challenging role to master. In essence, you are running the server and providing or altering the gaming experience for all other players. That is partly the reason why some players often underestimate the mental pressure, constant attention for detail and situational awareness it requires. It is easy to forget one aspect of the game which leads to a cascading effect and ultimately affects everyone playing at that moment. It is imperative to be able to function well under high pressure situations. Often you will find yourself multitasking and juggling completely different aspects of the game. That is where having natural leading skills will often make some HQ’s excel and others choke.

All of the above can be simplified by choosing the right persons to lead squads into the battlefield and having capable pilots to relieve some of the pressure in moments where a lot of different things require your attention. Be aware that mostly you will not have any control over that aspect and will have to be able to work around that. As HQ, you grant squads the permission to make use of certain vehicles, assign them their priority objectives and try to enlist newly joined players into either new squads or make them reinforce already existing ones in the field.

You will mostly find yourself at base where your main area of operations (AO) is located. In exceptional cases a HQ can find himself in the field, commanding the platoons on site but this is only reserved for players who are used to playing that role without losing eyesight of what is happening at base (not recommended or allowed for new players). You are also responsible for handling the communications which will primarily be held over the command channel as well as tasking the pilots in Teamspeak, hence the importance of brief and clear instructions over those channels.

The importance of being able to treat everyone as equal resonates even more when there are multiple squads aiming for the same objective. As HQ you have to be able to put personal history aside and be non-judgemental towards everyone. Whilst you have the freedom to operate as you like, it is however forbidden to favor one squad over the other. Which means, if you have multiple squads aiming for completion of a side-mission rotation of squads has to be implemented. The same goes for the usage of mechanized units.
